We had a hugely successful night at Saturday's #McSAMAwards hosted by the Dallas Builders Association with 12 wins! Our achievements include being named Developer of the Year for the 6th time, marking our 3rd consecutive win. Treeline secured the Best on Boards Community award, while Union Park was recognized as the Master-Planned Community of the Year. Pecan Square earned the title of Best Lifestyle Program, and Autumn Smith was honored as the Rising Star of the Year. Additionally, Union Park's Fitness Park was named Best Amenity, and Harvest's Mini Town Park won Best New Amenity. Among other accolades, Harvest's 10th Anniversary Concert was named Best Public/Consumer Special Event, while Union Park won Best Logo, Best Brochure, and Best Digital Marketing. Harvest also clinched the title of Best Overall Marketing. We are extremely grateful to our exceptional team and partners for their invaluable contributions to our success!

Having benefitted from vocational education in high school, I have a personal passion for the importance of helping children explore different avenues available to them. I love helping ladies (and young girls) think outside the box of career options. This is a passion I share with my fellow Dallas Builders Association #ProfessionalWomenInBuilding council members like Jeanine LaMay Jones and Katie Youngblood. So, when the opportunity presented itself to share the Mollie Elkman book #TheHouseThatSheBuilt with a group of young Girl Scouts of the USA at Hillwood Communities #PecanSquarebyHillwood North Ridge amenity construction site, I recruited assistance from other #WomenInBuilding leaders Karin Sumrall, Kristy Arnold, Edna Burciaga, Michelle Box, Kim Comiskey, Alexis Brandt, and Heather Swartwood. They joined me to share stories and open young minds about what women can do in the #RealEstate, #Construction, and #Homebuilding industries.

The Master of Real Estate Program was delighted to host Hillwood as part of our weekly Speaker Series on March 1st. We would like to present a special thank you to Fred Balda, President of Hillwood Communities, for sharing his incredibly distinguished experience and insight on Mixed-use Development within the Commercial Real Estate Industry. Along with his guidance on utilizing innovation to skillfully craft value and deliver long-term results, Mr. Balda shed light on the intricacies of the development process, from site selection to resident occupancy, and illustrated how each community is thoughtfully and intentionally designed to enrich the lives of the locality. Our students are immensely grateful to have had the privilege to learn directly from the Perot Company that is known for more than 100 master-planned lifestyle communities across the state of Texas and extend our tremendous appreciation to Mr. Balda for his valuable time, esteemed wisdom, and dedicated support.

On March 26, our Senior Vice President, Brian Carlock, will speak at the City of Celina Economic Development Corporation's Business Roundtable. He'll discuss the intricacies of real estate development and investment decisions, shedding light on what goes into a developer's thought process when choosing where to invest, develop, and build, and the importance of developers being genuine partners with the city and community.
